Roadtrip

Great tent, we got the 49in tent before a Thanksgiving 10 day road trip. And we are really happy with the purchase.

Both me and my girlfriend are 6ft tall and we have a 40lb dog, all three of us slept comfortably in it. The mattress it comes with is not bad but having the self inflating one on top of it was the perfect combo for that many nights. It is well insulated and keeps the warmth in, we spent nights a little under freezing temperature, had rain and winds up to 30mph and not a drop of water inside although walls will get extremely cold to touch.
Setup takes 5min and the only tricky part is extending the aluminum frame around the main entrance. Closing it probably takes less effort, the hardest part is reaching the hard shell to pull it down.

Noise wise while driving 80mph did not change much from what I was use to by just having the OEM bed type rack on my truck.

Condensation was definitely an issue all nights and I haven’t found a way to avoid it. We would have to dry with a cloth every morning most of the tent. Regardless moisture never got in the mattress or the sleeping area. Probably not an issue for better weather where you can have more ventilation.

You will not get any extra space to store anything while closed, at most you could fit a couple of extended sleeping bags not the bulky type.

Installation was really easy, hardest part being carrying it overhead to set it in the rack. For us a quilt to protect the truck/rack and a three step ladder did the job.

Christmas came early

Logan really helped in making the decision to buy a Freespirit Rooftop Tent. I am looking forward to getting out this spring.

Quality components

Great process front to back…bought the Odyssey on sale, yet they tacked on a little extra love for veteran/first responder status. Very kind of the FSR crew. Shipment arrived quickly, well packed, and everything intact. Super simple to set up (went on a Tundra with a bed rack similar to Yakima), well built, quality components and very happy with the purchase. Money well spent.
