Retro 51 launches the Columbia Space Shuttle Tornado rollerball pen to recognize the scientific achievements of Columbia's astronauts and flight crews. The Columbia was the first NASA orbiter to reach space. It was launched in April 1981 from the Kennedy Space Center. Throughout its time, it spent 300 days in space and orbited the Earth 4,000 times. It flew 27 successful missions and was a very big step in helping us understand more about the universe. Columbia had its last mission on February 1, 2003, after spending 16 days in space.
