This 2,650-acre estate at the source of the River Stour in Wiltshire is a place like no other. Designed in the 18th century by Henry Hoare II, this colourful landscape is renowned for its spectacular vistas, walks and monuments, which led one magazine to describe it as ‘a living work of art’.

Weddings at Stourhead

Congratulations on your engagement, we are delighted that you are thinking of Stourhead for your special occasion.

What could be more romantic than holding your wedding or civil ceremony amid the surroundings of the Stourhead estate? Each of our lakeside temples along with Stourhead House are licensed for ceremonies and can accommodate guests from between 12 and 80 people, dependent upon location.

The events team can also recommend local caterers, florists, musicians, and photographers to make your occasion extra-special.

We are proud to host weddings between April and September each year.

Engagement and Wedding Photography at Stourhead

The iconic gardens and beautiful wider estate make a beautiful backdrop for your wedding and engagement photoshoots. We can offer wedding photography packages from January through to the end of October.

Photoshoots must be booked in advance and all commercial photographers must hold a Stourhead license to photograph on the property.

Stourton Memorial Hall

Situated at the heart of the Stourhead estate and only a short distance from the garden entrance, Stourton Memorial Hall (run by the local community) is ideal for larger celebrations.
